After a short rainfall, sun came out again for some minutes, to illuminate the beautiful line-up of the last 4 operational Ge 4/4 I (also called BoBo I) locomotives of the RhB, celebrating 70 years of service for the # 602 "Bernina" and 603 "Badus". They were delivered in july and august 1947 by SLM, BBC and MFO with 1184 kW. # 605 "Silvretta" and # 610 "Viamala" are from the second order, delivered in 1953. All 10 locomotives # 601 to 610 were green when built and with a front door. In the late 1980' they were modernized by the RhB with new cabs and painted red, so they have a relatively contemporary appearance and you would hardly believe that they are 70 years old now. Nowadays, the locomotives are mainly used for freight trains in coherence to the Albula tunnel II construction site in Preda and Spinas, but sometimes even to pull the Glacier Express between Chur and Disentis.
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
