Remarks & Notes

In the days before triple-tracking, the double mains here were virtually always hot rail. C&NW 8513 storms through Kearney, NE with westbound empties returning to the Powder River from the Pleasant Prairie power plant in Wisconsin. AC power had yet to achieve dominance with bulk train traffic.
