This Colorado & Southern 641 was built in July of 1906 by the American Locomotive Company and ran local freight around Leadville, Colorado and also made runs to the Climax gold mine. It is on display at the Leadville Depot, home to the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad. The LC&SR operates daily passenger trips through the high elevations of the rocky mountains, starting at Leadville's 10,200 SF and rising another 1,000 feet through the Rockies. This locomotive was active until being retired in the 1960's.
