Grand Canyon of Canada is what many call the deep defile along the Upper Fraser River. It is officially called the Fraser River Canyon. The long 2.2% former British Columbia Railway grade north out of Lillooet, BC is one of the longest sustained heavy mountain grades on the the North American Continent. Westbound CN Train #570 drops towards Lillooet at Moran, BC. This location is 1000 feet above the raging Fraser River. It is 900 pm and the sun sets late this far north on the continent. The train is heavy with copper concentrate from the mines north of Williams Lake.
