Siemens Eurosprinter class 5600 # 5618 of the Comboios de Portugal, entering Entroncamento on the portuguese norths-south mainline with an "Intercidades" train from Porto Campanha to Lisboa Santa Apolonia. 30 of the 5600 class were built from 1993 to 1995 by Siemens, KraussMaffei and Sorefame (Sociedades Reunidas de Fabricações Metálicas) at Amadora/Portugal for the Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses (today called Comboios de Portugal). The 86 ton locomotives for 25000 V 50 Hz AC, with 5600 Kw can run 220 km/h on the iberian broad gauge of 1668 mm. Some of this series are now running in freight service for the Medway Logistics, the former CP Carga.
