Change is coming to the NEC in the late 70s- concrete ties on No. 4 track, and GG-1 No. 902 has been renumbered as the 4902 to make way for the 900-series AEM-7s. Note the HEP (head end power) car behind the 4902, supplying 480 volts AC to the Amfleet cars. The 4902 was built by Altoona-Westinghouse in May, 1940 as the PRR 4899. PRR fans will also note the classic gooseneck platform lamp, on the right.
