With its layover in San Luis Obispo complete, Amtrak 796 exits the Amtrak spur track and trundles onto the Coast Subdivision as it makes its way to the depot to load up.

What California is known for. Fires, droughts, weed, and people waving rainbow flags. Yah. Great place alright. At least the trains are nice.

Some of the best passenger locomotives that EMD ever made (aside from the F40PH). With all Amtrak F59s gone from the Surfline, the only place that they can be seen is with Caltrans (Amtrak California).
