The most spectacular part of the line from Tehran to Tabriz is the Gharanghu Canyon between Miyaneh and Khorasanak. Unfortunately most passenger traffic happens during the night, and freight trains are few. This situation will only get worse in the coming years, as a new, more direct line is being built from Miyaneh to Tabriz.
This day we got lucky, however, and caught this freight train headed towards Tabriz.
