| In the summer of 1969, the Illinois Central leased a group of F7s from the Denver & Rio Grande Western to help with a power shortage. This bright yellow A-B-B-A set was in charge of a northbound IC freight that was pulling off the mainline at Homewood, IL, and headed into Markham Yard late on an August afternoon. The IC was one of the few Class 1 railroads that never bought F-units of its own. |
