Remarks & Notes
The "Clinchfield 676" dwarfs the Union Pacific support truck as the sparks fly from minor surgery taking place on the running board. The giant locomotive had sideswiped some coal hoppers on a sharp curve the day before, and repairs are being made by cutting off the crinkled forward portion of the damaged running board to allow installation of a replacement part.
