Between 1966 and 1968, the Connecticut group that in 1971 would found the Valley Railroad tourist line ran a series of fantrips on New Haven RR trackage using privately owned ex-Birmingham & Southeastern 2-8-0 200, which became Connecticut Valley 97. Here the 97 puts on a smoke show as it pulls into Derby, CT, on a trip out of Hartford that covered the NH's Naugatuck Valley line. The 97 is now on display on the VRR at Essex, CT.
