On the blistering cold New Years morning five Progress Rail Service (PRLX) ex: BNSF SD70MACs, are sitting in idle on the storage track just outside of the Chattanooga Diesel Shops in downtown Chattanooga. It's the signs of the times, with NS recent announcement of them ramping up the SD70ACC rebuilt Program from the older SD70s, NS as promise lease 14 SD70MAC's from Progress Rails on a undetermined amount of time, t keep the feet moving without taking all the SD70s out of service, and putting the railroad in a power shortage. Another fine example of some of the major improvements that Norfolk Southern is doing to keep it's older fleet up to part.
