Historic Consist. On this day, near Columbia, SC, we had an amazing consist on what usually is a fairly humdrum daily train, NS 192. It was led by a BNSF SD70 MAC in the older paint scheme, followed by a UP SD70M in the older paint scheme, followed by a standard cab SD60. An added benefit was that I managed to make the catch on this old Southern Railway bridge.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
