| With the entire length of its train visible, UP 8697 hustles a Roseville-bound manifest up the final miles of grade through Monolith and toward the summit of Tehachapi. Following its crest of the 3,771-foot summit, the five units on this heavy manifest will have their work cut out for them as they bring the train down the steep northern slope of the pass. |
