125 Years and Counting. As UP 1469 leads another GP60 and a single covered hopper out of the IMyers Filtration Minerals mining facility, a 125-year tradition continues on the White Hills Branch. Located due south of the small town of Lompoc on the central coast of California, the White Hills Branch is one that offers scenes right on the beach, 10 mph jointed rail, street running and even a little mountain railroading with grades close to 2% at times up in the White Hills. Today's covered hopper departing the secluded facility contains Celite, one of the more common diatomite products produced here.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
