Remarks & Notes |
Steam rotary snow blower Xrot d # 9213 on Ospizio Bernina with open service flaps and driver's cab door. Clearly visible the two threeaxle drives, arranged according to Meyer design with the cylinders against each other, built as bogies for passing the 45 meter radius curves of the Bernina line. Above is the drive for the impeller. The force is transmitted to the shaft of the fan impeller in a ratio of 1:1.9 via a gear toothed by an arrow gear. This vehicle is a miracle of the ingenuity of the engineers of the Swiss Locomotiv and Machine Works Winterthur (SLM) from 1910. |
