Remarks & Notes |
CNW 1563 tiptoes across CNW's Chippewa River bridge with the Cornell local out of Altoona. It was slow going with the main running at about 25 mph and the Cornell branch at 10 mph. By 1973 CNW laid second hand welded rail which helped speed up the Duluth main a bit. This bridge suffered an arson fire years later and was repaired be UP which is now hauling heavy sand trains on this line. |
