Remarks & Notes
Hey, SIRI...

The Buffalo & Pittsburgh's daily southbound road train (Salamanca, NY - Riker (Punxsutawney), PA) eases over the trestle in Johnsonburg after swapping crews with the northbound RISI. The mainline here was originally built as the Buffalo, Rochester, & Pittsburgh, which was absorbed by the Baltimore & Ohio in 1932 after a bit of a tussle with the Delaware & Hudson for it. The south side of the trestle over Center Street still bears a very faint B&O Capitol Dome emblem.

The paper mill in the background has been in continuous operation for 127 years, and has been served by this rail link (and the former Philadelphia & Erie (PRR), which later became the Allegheny & Eastern Subdivision of the B&P) its entire life.
