| A Santa Fe freight is about to depart the Illinois Central's East St. Louis yard for the run to Kansas City over the Gateway Western Railway as an empty IC coal train rolls by. ATSF acquired the former Chicago, Missouri, & Western route in 1989 and sold it to KCS after the BNSF merger made the route redundant. |
