FINAL RUN: After arriving in Saratoga Springs, New York with what was likely the last Saratoga and North Creek Railway passenger train, one of the railroad's employees poses with his family on BL-2 #52 while the engineer looks on. The SNC's parent company--Iowa Pacific--recently announced that it will no longer be running passenger trains for Warren County, who owns the section of track between North Creek and Corinth. The decision came after the SNC was no longer able to store empty tank cars on the Iowa Pacific-owned Sanford Lake Branch between North Creek and Tahawus. New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo pressured the tank car company owner--Warren Buffett--to have the cars removed from the Sanford Lake Branch, which runs through the Adirondack State Park.
