On January 29, 2018, a trio of Central Maine & Quebec Railway SD40F-2s await the next day's departure from Farnham, Quebec, as the CMQ 'Job 2' train. This particular evening, with them positioned where they were and a gorgeous sunset unfolding, I opted to use a combined UAS and Alien Bees approach for the scene. Using a quartet of Alien Bees at approximately 1/2 power, I was able to illuminate the train and capture the overall scene at 1/2 second on the P4P. Several factors played into the timing allotment, including a steady breeze with occasional gusts and a temp of -5 degrees F at the time. There have been several more trials since this with better results that I will get around to posting at some point.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
