After fighting nearly half an hour, with 2 helpers on the rear, to get over 100 cars to the top of the former B&O Ohio Division grade of Madeira Hill, the 3 SD40-2's and GP50 on the point of the Indiana & Ohio Railway's Washington Court House Turn are in full song as they have just topped the grade at the depot (now a BBQ Restaurant) in Madeira, Ohio, headed east on the I&O Midland Subdivision. The helpers on the rear were an SD40T-2 and a GP40-2, and the sights and sounds of all that classic EMD power hard at work was awesome!
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
My photos that I have taken on lines operated the Indiana & Ohio and it's affiliate operations, including the Central Railroad of Indiana (CIND), and the Chicago, Fort Wayne & Eastern Railroad (CF&E).
