Remarks & Notes

Heavy 16 axles "Torpedo" cars with molten pig iron, which were brought from the blast furnace "Rogesa" in Dillingen to Völklingen with an electric locomotive, to the Saarstahl steelworks nearby, a distance of about 20 kilometers only. In the background the shut down former Völklingen work which is now UNESCO World Heritage. The 16 axles "torpedo" cars can load up to 160 ton of molten iron.
