| This is a rare sight these days; catching three former Cascade Green BN units in one location. These three also happen to represent three variants utilized by the Burlington Northern. BNSF 2897 is a GP39M, which was originally built as a GP35 for the Southern Pacific in 1964. BNSF 2700 is a GP39-2 built in 1981 and BNSF 1933 is a SD40-2 built in 1979. Extra credit given to those that knew BNSF 1789 was at one time also a Cascade Green BN unit before being repainted in the H3 scheme. |
