On the north side of BNSF’s Alliance yard in Nebraska on May 23, 2014, sit Burlington Northern GE C30-7 Nos. 5549 and 5545. Both were heavily used in coal service for for much of their lives, but spent their later years as back-up generators for the Alliance Locomotive Shop. Today, the two wait their inevitable fate.
