Metra F40PHM-2 #209 shoves an inbound morning scoot east towards LaSalle St Station, flying high above the Norfolk Southern mainline across the Englewood Flyover. This image demonstrates why the flyover was necessary: All rail traffic can continue to move as normal, as evidenced by the inbound Amtrak Lake Shore Limited passing underneath the bridge, while a westbound Metra charter special approaches from the north. Five different rail movements can be seen here when you include the NS intermodal train on the far right and the Chicago El moving by the church steeple near the upper center of the image.
