| This has been on my bucket list for a long time and now I have it! The former Maine Central Mountain Subdivision is home to one of the country's finest tourist railroads and there is no better time to experience it than New England's legendary fall foliage season. The eastbound Notch Train returning downgrade to North Conway from Fabyan has three locomotives and 8 coaches for its westward journey. The lead unit is an original Maine Central that lead freights across this very line for 15 years between when she was built and when the line was closed down in 1983. Trailing is another veteran New Englander at home here, ex B&M F7 4266. Third out is CWSR 1751 in Finger Lakes Railroad paint. She was picked up at Fabyan after being brought down from Hazens where she was on short term lease to the New Hampshire Central for freight duty. A three unit consist up here is a rare treat indeed.
