Remarks & Notes
Three Maine Central U-Boats, all acquired secondhand, will be working uphill as they depart Gardner, MA, with Boston & Maine train MERU (Mechanicville, NY, to Rumford, ME, via B&M/MEC). Lead unit 238 is an ex-Rock Island U25B; behind it are two ex-Delaware & Hudson U23Bs transferred to the MEC by the Guilford organization, one in Guilford paint and the other still in D&H blue and gray.
