Remarks & Notes
The equipment from the 2018 New River Train deadheaded back to Chicago from Huntington on the morning of October 30, 2018. Operating with an Amtrak crew under the CSX symbol P959-30, the train made a daylight run across the mostly nocturnal Amtrak "Cardinal" route through Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Here the train splits the quaint little town of Augusta, Kentucky, in two as it rolls westbound on the former C&O Russell to Cincinnati mainline.
