The DX class was built by General Electric's Erie, PA plant and entered service from 1972. From 1988 the DX class received a series of modifications and, with new motors and Brightstar fitted, were classified DXB. Assisting loco DFB 7239 was built by EMD in Canada in 1979 and rebuilt since with Brightstar etc. The manifest train is crossing Maheno trestle south of Oamaru bound for Dunedin. |
