Approaching Sumpter. The fall colors are shining brightly in the afternoon sun as Sumpter Valley's Mikado #19 hustles west toward nearby Sumpter, with a log train.
This stretch of track just east of Sumpter features a nice, clean ROW, a foreground pond, back ground fall foliage, and a hillside from which to shoot the entire scene. The spot gets good for photography around noon and is good for the rest of the day....regardless of which way the trains face. It is easily one of the top 2 spots on the line, in my opinion at least!
