Soon to enter its 65th year, HUTX 1829 sits parked outside of the Hutchinson Salt Company facility on the Southeast side of Hutchinson. Originally built as Great Northern 677, the past six decades have gradually taken their toll. With paint eroding away and past carbody repairs showing through, the unit sits on the former property of the Hutchinson and Northern Railway, now operated by the Hutchinson Transportation Company.
