| The engineer of Pere Marquette #1225 guides his iron horse through rural Owosso. Pere Marquette #1225 was built in 1941 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio. This locomotive was the very same engine that the Polar Express book and movie location was based on. Today the locomotive is owned and operated by the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan. In January 2019 Pete Lerro ran a photo charter with 1225 and a matching passenger consist. |
