On a frosty, winter morning at the Tehachapi Loop, a BNSF manifest has it’s turn at the railroad landmark, climbing the grade toward the town of Tehachapi. A winter storm had quickly broke apart just moments before the train entered tunnel 9, revealing a snow covered Bear Mountain in the background with the snow level just above the hill I was standing on. It’s a perfect spot to watch trains.
