Remarks & Notes
Ontario Northland Railway's heritage SD40-2, #1730, makes its first northbound run north of Englehart, Ontario, on the last day of February, as it heads up a consist of all three of the schemes currently employed by the Ontario Northland - heritage, the current corporate scheme and the O.N. Rail scheme that several units and the SD75Is wear. The Royne-Noranda train is seen crossing the Blanche River Triestle at Krugerdorf, north of Englehart, with filtered sun providing enough brightness amid snow showers.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
