Remarks & Notes
Br Standard Class 4 2-6-4T about to depart from Rawtenstall station on the East Lancashire Railway. This was the loco's inaugural passenger train after a restoration that has taken over 30 years. The loco was built in 1954 and was withdrawn for scrap after only 11 years service in 1965. It then spent another 20 years in a scrapyard before being saved at taken to the East Lancs Railway for restoration. A very small band of volunteers has done an amazing job in restoring what was an utter wreck to the superb standard that it is now in. Well done, boys!
