| Soldier Summit isn't exactly very hospitable this afternoon. But the sun has broke through the snow flurries, at just the right time. As the Utah brings an empty coal train up the mountain. With the Southern Pacific C44-9W's bring a load coal train down the mountain. The Southern Pacific C44-9W on the Rio Grande main were very short lived. AC4400CW were preferred in the mountains. The C44-9W where moved to high speed mains like the Sunset Route. |
