CN 2909 leads C738 south through Lake Cormorant, Mississippi. The curve in the background is where the former Y&MV Cleveland District and Tallahatchie District split at the end of the Lake Cormorant District. The Cleveland District was later abandoned by the IC (besides a portion further south used by the Mississippi Delta Railroad) and the Lake Cormorant and Tallahatchie Districts were combined to be the Yazoo Sub. Note that the Cleveland district followed the Mississippi River fairly closely going through towns such as Clarksdale, Greenville, and Cleveland for agriculture and river traffic, while the Tallahatchie District cut a path straight south through the delta. Eventually the Cleveland District lost most of it's local traffic.
