Rain begins to fall on the very last day of 2018, as the very last Nashville & Eastern schedule freight works it's way through Horn Springs, heading east for Lebanon, TN. As the crews day draw to a close so does a chapter of 32 years of the Nashville & Eastern Railway Corp. This railroad is a fine example of what was a poor dunk 110 mile long operation that was invested, and was drastically turn around into a successful piece of railroad, thrumping its most controversial past in Tennessee History. As of November 2018 the Nicholasville, Ky base company RJ Corman had announce the finalization of an agreement to acquire the Nashville & Eastern Railroad Corp, Nashville & Western Railroad Corp, Transit Solutions Group-Nashville Star, and Transit Solutions Group. As of Jan 1, 2019 The Nashville & Eastern and all of it's subsidiary will fall under the RJ Corman umbrella. Photo from the C. Bamberg Collection.
