A Once Of A Lifetime Event
The American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO) was having their 35th Annual Convention this year in Chattanooga, TN at the "Chattanooga Choo Choo" former Southern Union Terminal, and what a way to kick off the event than to have a passenger train arrive from the Nation Capitol's to the Union Terminal. NS 011 the "Chattanooga Limited" (Washington,DC-Chattanooga,TN) led by a trio of Amtrak P42's pull pass the NS/CSX Diamond at 23rd St. to clear the switch to make the shovel move to drop the first 10 cars in the Terminal Station, the rest of the train including the trio of motors will back into the Storage Yard at "Onion Bottom" til the conclusion of the convention. Their was a lot of excitement in the air as the thought comes to mind that the last time we've seen Amtrak bringing a train into Chattanooga, was back in May of 2000, when Amtrak, and the United Postal Service had it's Centennial Commemorative Train on display.
The Chattanooga Limited was a special train of privately owned railroad cars that are part of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners (AAPRCO). The train was in conjunction with the annual convention in 2012.
