A friendly face on a sad day. Norfolk Southern 1068 (Erie Railroad Heritage/Tribute) leads intermodal train 22W by CP MG and the former MG Tower on the afternoon of Sunday, May 5, 2019. The Erie was known as “The Friendly Service Route”, and we can all use a friend to comfort us sometimes, as just hours before the former Pennsylvania Railroad signals here were removed, an unfortunate but necessary byproduct of modernization.
