Remarks & Notes
U.P. 4-8-8-4 NÂș4014, one of 25 built during the latter part of WWll made it's debut run on May 4, 2019 as it headed west from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Ogden, Utah for the 150th Anniversary Celebration that commemorated the railroad's completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. The "Big Boys" were considered to be the largest steam locomotives in the world weighing in at 1,208,750lbs and having a tractive effort of 135,375lbs. They were specifically designed locomotives to operate west from Cheyenne, Wyoming and across the Wahsatch Mountain Range. The 4000's were built in a joint venture between Union Pacific Railroad and Alco, the American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, New York.
