Stopped by the rocks The special passenger train led by Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014 made an unexpended stop proceeding down the north siding at Evanston, Wyoming, on May 6, 2019. Near the location of old ice cutting lakes (now called the Bear River Ponds) and PFE icehouse, riprap made up of large rocks was piled too close to the siding to allow the Big Boy and train to safely pass. A front-end loader was soon brought to the scene to move the offending rocks, giving everyone on hand time to study the large locomotive at rest.
