Top Ten of 2018. Here's a look back at my Top 10 favorite shots from 2018. 6. Like our past Colorado trips over the last few years, we set aside an extra day to chase Amtrak's Southwest Chief in both directions on BNSF's Raton Subdivision.
Our main goal obviously are the remaining semaphores in New Mexico, but we have also started checking off the remaining searchlight cantilever signals on Raton Pass.
On our trip in June, our last shot of the day, of eastbound Train 4 passing the cantilever and mast at MP 640, a few miles south of Jansen, with unique 9,633-foot Fishers Peak in the background, ended up being my favorite from a full day of chasing.
