The meeting at Old Spruce, 4 hours and 8 minutes after we departed the depot in Elkins, WV. The classic shays #4 & #11 brought up their almost fully loaded train from Cass, WV to meet up with our train the "Cheat Mountain Salamander". During the brief layout over, several passenger (whom bought the appropriate tickets) transferred from each train to the other while the crews form each train transferred luggage and meal accommodations. Once the transfers were complete, the Shay's continued to steam their train up the mountain to Bald Knob (the 3rd highest point in WV) while our train powered by the B&O diesel did a short reverse move back to the old town of Spruce for the run around.
