Built in 1961, dismantled in 2019. Bridge no. 9482 was built to carry millions of tons of natural iron ore from mine pits near Eveleth, MN and included Fayal 1, 2 and 3, Cloquet Annex, Pearsall, Security and Troy mines that started mining in 1895 at the Fayal mines and ended in 2000 with the Security mine under the operation of Auburn Minerals. Here are workers removing a section of bridge after cutting it loose from the supports below. Note the red natural ore color still predominate after all these years and the thickness of the steel used to support the heavy trains.
