| As the daylight for the summer solstice 2019 comes to an end, a flashback to a as cold as it looks afternoon on December 29th 2017 as DMIR 403 leads steaming taconite pellets out of U.S. Steel Minntac and down the grade of the Minntac Sub heading for Two Harbors, MN. Two months after this shot DMIR 403 suffered a cracked block and was determined to be unserviceable and late sent down to MEI (St. Louis area) to receive a prime mover to replace the one it currently has that suffered the cracked block. The 403 in currently in yard service at Winnipeg and has her straight air removed plus she's now equipped for remote control service. Don’t expect them back on the former Missabe. |
