A loaded ethanol train begins its descent down Cajon Pass on July 13, 2019. BNSF Railway ES44AC 6218, BNSF ET44C4 3993, BNSF ES44C4 4298 and BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5183 (with BNSF Dash 9-44CW 5096 and BNSF ES44C4 7033 on the rear) will keep train U-CCEWAT7-08A (Unit Train; Chancellor SD to Watson CA) in check as it fights gravity on the 2.2% downgrade, dropping from 3775-feet here to 1053-feet at San Bernardino, 25 miles ahead.
