Chesapeake & Ohio locomotive 815 is actually owned by Indiana Boxcar Corporation. IBCX 815, seen at La Crosse, Indiana, on September 29, 2018, was originally Duluth Missabe & Iron Range SD9 163 (built in April 1959). DM&IR later rebuilt it into an "SD-M" and numbered it 815. This locomotive was later sold to the Elgin Joliet & Eastern (EJE 815), and after that it was owned by Carolina Coastal Railway (CLNA 815). The nose was chopped in April 1971, and unlike the flat-front nose on other SD9s, the nose is pointed, as it was salvaged from another EMD engine built in the 1960s.
