BNSF Railway train Z-ATGSBD7-11 winds down the "old main" (Main 3) in the Pine Lodge area of Cajon Pass, California. This was the original grade over Cajon, constructed by Santa Fe predecessor California Southern in the 1880s, and features a slightly steeper 3% grade than the later (1913) mainline (2.2%, and which is now two "later mainlines" thanks to a third main being added in 2007-2008). This Priority UPS - LTL Intermodal train departed Atlanta, Georgia, on December 11, and now, on December 15, is only about twenty miles from its destination of San Bernardino. Power for this train consists of ES44C4 6719, SD70ACe 8519, another pair of ES44C4s (6898 and 8112) and Dash 9-44CW 4608. The middle of this train can be seen on the other side of Highway 138 as this train descends a grade that is 3% in places.
